There is definitely a surplus of docking stations for iPods. This time it is the mStation 2.1 stereo Orb with dedicated subwoofer and 30 watts of power. At a size of about 8-inches, the device will sync with your iTunes. It has a 10-key IR remote for playlist selection and adjustment for volume, bass, and treble levels. In a choice of 7 colors to match your player, USB and mini-stereo cables are included with the Orb’s $129.95 price.

Digital Converter Organizes Slides and Negatives

Sandisk is experimenting with doing away with boring old thumb drives in favor of something a little more personal. Their new prototype jewelry is designed as an accessory first, and technology second. Amazingly well hidden within the stylish exterior is a miniscule USB plug for access to it’s treasure trove of digital memories. These are not yet on the market but should be soon - keep your eyes (and pocket book) peeled.

Green is Good. Definitely the newest buzzword, there is a trend now to create gadgets that are not only functional but good for the environment. Some companies rely on guilt, but others seem to believe in what they sell. Created in Vietnam and designed in Belgium, United Pepper’s accessories are made of paperboard, cotton, and Kapok, a natural tree-fibre. Their Oscar USB 2.0 hub and LILI 1.3 Mpixel webcam are completely recycleable, energy efficient, and composed of fairtraded goods. It doesn’t hurt that they are cute, either.
